Shouldn't Karl Rove hold a news conference about the rebuilding
progress after Katrina? I mean, after all, he is in charge of that, isn't he? What is the agenda, the timeframe and the budget? I hope they won't make the same mistakes they made in Iraq about proper prior planning.

1. I thought they eased him out of that role before Fitzmas
and installed a grubby little repuke nonentity named Donald Powell in his place.

3. Really! I totally missed that! OK, well then Donald Powell needs to
stand before the American people and give a press conference. Our fellow citizens are living in tent cities with no answers. They should have put Trent Lott in charge - at least he has a vested interest and is a citizen of the area. Everything I hear is that relief is moving with glacial rapidity and people are not being provided with the resources and answers they need. Why hasn't this fostered an economic jobs and rebuilding boom? Gee, could it be because they want to outsource it all to connected entitites that will pay slave wages to illegals while they pocket the difference? Do you think?

2. No, he has other priorities now.
I'm sure he's working on his Plamegate legal defense and is too busy looking over his shoulder to see if the bogeyman Fitzgerald is going to get him.

And it couldn't happen to a nicer guy.

4. Hey Didn't You See All Those Cable News Stations Human Interest...
pieces of how the people in the Katrina ravaged South enjoyed Christmas?

No - you probably didn't because they didn't show any. One would have thought it would have been a big human interest story - but because it would further implicate * and his mishandling of this - they didn't even consider showing people living in tents, trailers, motels, etc - away from home, away from family, away from friends, with no worldly possessions. In both *'s and MSM minds - these people don't exist.

I hope * has nightmares every night for the rest of his life.

5. We need to speak out on this issue loud
and clear. These are our own people who are getting screwed over. We want to see some sign of competent government and collaboration between governing bodies. If they want to have a multi-disciplinary planning board, fine--but let's get on with it. Who the Sam Hill is figuring out where to put those ruined cars--the abandoned reefers--IMHO they should all get shipped to D.C. First, plan for worker housing. Second, get local workers in there to do the jobs. Third, do not let any of the creepy corps. get a dime more out of this unless they win a bid fair and square.

In the meantime, let's all check out those great CD's that are around, such as Hurricane Relief: Come Together Now, so we can get some money to the Katrina victims.
