Al Gore Moves to San Francisco
Al Gore's Move to San Francisco Generates Real Estate Buzz

When Al and Tipper Gore move into a neighborhood, the place suddenly has a whole new buzz.

San Francisco, California (PRWEB) December 28, 2005 -- Following news that Al Gore and wife Tipper have purchased a multimillion dollar condo at the new St. Regis highrise in San Francisco, well-heeled home buyers throughout the city are clamoring to join the neighborhood.

"Ever since people learned that Al and Tipper Gore were moving into the St. Regis, I've had three times as many inquiries about the place," says Damion Matthews, a realtor specializing in San Francisco's luxury condo market.

"There's something about living near a person so powerful and important that really excites folks," he says.

(snip)

"It's gorgeous! One of the finest condo buildings in the country," says Matthews, who points out that among it's best qualities are its spectacular views of the city and bay.

6. Aw I'm sad he's leaving
Edited on Wed Dec-28-05 12:57 AM by FreedomAngel82
:( I'm sad he's leaving Tennessee. :( I remember seeing the place (in an interview on some channel, I think CNN or something) he and Tipper have here in Tennessee and it looks like a mini White House. Hehehe. Will they still have their place here or are they selling that? Any word on why they're moving to San Francisco?

27. I did!
I'm in Tennessee - voted for him for senator, too.

The problem was that Al's campaign took his home state for granted and he didn't campaign nearly enough here.

7. Welcome, Al and Tipper!
I hope you are going to help unseat Der Gropinator!

I hope Al gets out on the streets - he will get a hero's welcome, and a few miles on the slopes of San Francisco will do him a world of good.

Damn, I am feeling better already - "O, Captain, my Captain!"

8. What happened to his lecture gig in Tennesee?
Wasn't he a professor at Middle Tennessee State University?

I know he is running that "Contact" channel on my satellite dish (Channel 366) now.

Anyone in the know have a more complete AL update?

He did it for a while. I think now he's mainly doing a lot of stuff with Global Warming and speeches with that. Wasn't he supposed to have a film out about it?

17. Explains the move...
I've watched Current TV a few times when it first came on but haven't seen a whole lot to make me keep watching. I'm disappointed they pulled News World International off channel 366 to make room for it. NWI showed me the national news from several other countries including CBC, DW, et. al.

33. It's Current tv..
snip~

"Gore, a geeky guy with a brilliant mind, maintains that the intersection of technology and culture will direct Current in the right direction. "I personally believe that when this medium is connected to the grassroots storytellers that are out there, it will have an impact on the kinds of things that are discussed and the way they are discussed," he said at the press conference. It sounds like a nonideological Dean campaign on television, complete with Current MeetUps. Yet this vision--like Gore's "People Versus the Powerful" speech in 2000--may not last any longer than Gore's earlier forays into populism. Just take one look at cable TV news, with its recent wall-to-wall coverage of Michael Jackson, Terri Schiavo and the Pope. "Networks do studies and research and put on what people will watch," says Victoria Clark, a lobbyist for Comcast and a former spokeswoman for the Pentagon. "It's a business." Such are the perils of Current's audience-generated model. If the 18-to-34 crowd really wants to see Paris Hilton, the Gore gatekeepers may be powerless to stop it. At the same time, if media savvy right-wingers test the opportunity that Current provides to air videos of themselves blocking abortion clinics or taunting left-wing Columbia professors, Current may choose to discourage political programming altogether. Opening the gates won't necessarily trigger more sophisticated content."

We'll see if this goes or not..I would think the public is ready for something different even though it isn't geared toward my age group. I'm waiting for IWT!

23. All hail president gore
Whatever the man does, he's blessed for the rest of his life in my book.
He is the great president we lost. He gets to be kennedy without dying.

Perhaps san francisco will install draw-bridges and become a walled city state.
Then he will be king and the atomic wasteland of the sino-bush wars, the
survivors of the blast zones of southern california can mob the gates
starving for food, and god then steps in with an timely earthquake
reducing san francisco to rubble.

And even then, king gore would keep the west coast enlightenment alive through
his internet; benevolent king :-)

28. Sad loss for Tennessee
In my opinion. Wish we could've kept him here.

I think he's a true Southern gentleman. He has so much class. Especially when * stole the presidency from him. He bowed out graciously although I wish he had put up more of a fight. I think Gore played nice and the chimperator played dirty.

31. Gore put up more of a fight that his party did.
Where were those Democrats rallying behind him, crying for the True Results from Florida? Far too many joined the media in calling for an end of it all.
