newest New Hampshire poll results
Dean 31%
Kerry 19%
Clark 12%

Trailing with single-digit support were Connecticut Sen. Joe Lieberman, North Carolina Sen. John Edwards, Missouri Rep. Dick Gephardt and Ohio Rep. Dennis Kucinich. Al Sharpton and Carol Moseley Braun had less than 1 percent support.

Twenty-three percent of respondents were undecided about the Democratic primary.

The poll was done for the Concord Monitor by Research 2000, a Rockville, Md., company.

MOE ± 5

The new poll was conducted Oct. 16-Oct. 20 among residents who voted in the 2002 presidential election and who are likely to vote in the upcoming election.

That's a pretty limited group.

Do they have results from last time this poll was taken by the same company? Otherwise it is hard to tell if it went up or down.

I find it interesting that they chose to survey only those who voted in the midterm elections in 2002. A lot of people vote in presidential elections who do not vote in midterms.

Wish they offered more on the internals of the poll. While I find the poll believeable, it seems an odd way to select poll respondents.

I love how when folks here at DU don't like the results of a poll, they do one of two things: 1)let the thread drop 2)question its authenticity/relativity

Amazing.


If this had been a Kerry or Clark leading, it would have had 80 replies already.

USA Today didn't question it. They ran it today in the first section.

Not sure if you knew that or not though. Do you read newspapers?

Edit: and CNN and MSNBC ran it, too. Guess they didn't question it either.

Looks like you Clarkettes are all alone on this one.

Wow I had no idea it was that relative, I apologize, it just doesn't appear to be realative to anyone here, but you keep mentioning it and someone may actually care and advise their candidate to drop out now!

I read USA Today once while staying at a Holiday Inn but have to admit I've never read CNN or MSNBC in newspaper form.

Clarkette, The polls is fine. A month and 3 days into the race and New Hamphire is shaping up quite nicely.

So I'm happy with the poll, no matter it's source....well it matters, but I won't quible..don't want to be accused of anything!
