2. I wish...
...a group of Americans would recreate that image of a Bush statue being pulled down like Michael Moore displayed on the cover of his ne book. Now that would be fun!

Excerpt:
Anti-war protesters plan to topple and dance on a mock statue of Bush in the center of London as part of demonstrations to "blight" his visit to Britain next month.

Their re-working in Trafalgar Square of the famous humiliation of a Saddam statue in Baghdad six months' ago will be among running protests including marches and a mock trial of Bush planned around his November 19-21 state visit.

Excerpt:
Plans for the Queen and George W Bush to make a triumphant procession along the Mall during the president's state visit next month have been abandoned because of fears of anti-war protests.

The decision, taken by Downing Street after consultations with Buckingham Palace, the White House and Scotland Yard, has disappointed the president and his senior aides.

The procession is traditionally the public high point of a state visit. A senior Palace official said that detailed plans had been made. "But Downing Street, anxious about possible anti-war protests from the start, has now decided to pull the plug on it," said the official.

3. great photos!
the only thing i don't like is that every caption says the protests were anti-US. while a handful show US flags, most of the photos only seem to show signs about chimpy. if these people are protesting chimpy that doesn't mean they are anti-US. i wish the media would get that right.

10. In the eyes of the corporate media to be against
Bush or oppose him in any way is to be anti US.

Just as opposing the government of Israel is seen as anti Israel and antisemitic.

Canberra is virtually closed down by unprecendented security measures despite no threat - even the A-G says as much. What a coward this man is to be scared in a friendly, unarmed society like Australia.
