2. I don't know.
But I'm sure Florida wasn't too far behind. Broward county only just desegregated public schools in '74.

3. www.google.com
That's a rather huge topic to address with such a truncated question.

4. every state in the country, from I what I understand...
And I think that South Carolina and MS were the last places to repeal them. If there are any others I don't know. Of course, they weren't in force after the 1969 Loving Supreme Court decision, but they were still on the books. Shockingly, in these southern states, the vote to repeal, which was recently, was fairly close!

5. Loving v. Virginia was 1967
At the time 16 states had antimiscegenation laws.

6. Alabama 2000

Couldn't be enforced of course, but still on the books.
The people of Alabama voted in the general special election of 2000-NOV-7 to delete the clause.

Edited to correct date, I thought it was repealed in 1999.

7. And a bit more (google is our friend)
Besides Virginia, the states with such laws in 1967 were Alabama, Arkansas, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas and West Virginia. All were Southern and border states where all sorts of equal rights battles raged in the 1950s and 1960s.

This was not just a Southern issue, however. Between 1952 and 1967 the following 14 states repealed long-standing anti-miscegenation laws: Arizona, California, Colorado, Idaho, Indiana, Maryland, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, North Dakota, Oregon, South Dakota, Utah and Wyoming. All but Indiana and Maryland were Western states where the bans on mixed-race marriage were primarily targeted at Native Americans (and, on the West Coast, Asians) rather than blacks.

8. I love that! "Google is our friend".
:bounce:

I'm old enough to remember a couple in court because of the anti-miscegnation law in Virginia. And I didn't live in Virginia.

In Colorado, and in perhaps other western states, I wonder if that wasn't a Klan inspired law from the 1920's? ... I'll just go google.
