its not Dems vs Repubs but how to advance the progressive agenda. Clark has so farlaid out a comparatively progressive platform and i think has the best chance of not only beating Bush, but increasing the odds of bringing more Dems into congress by allowing them to ride his coattails by sheilding them with his Foreign Policy Cred.

I don't think Clark is the only one who can beat Bush, but I do think he's the one with the best chance -- not only of winning, but of advancing a progressive agenda because of the coattails.

and you are right that their campaign, ever so late, was taking too long. they seem to have hit their stride.

This thought keeps nagging at me. The problem binge spending has been on defense over the years. Too much for defense contractors and not enough for people. Clark has expressed a willingness to go after the weapons we don't need--and he can deflect the weak on defense label that has rendered democrats unable to deal with the problem.

This prospect is really appealing and I urge you to at least reflect of the great potential for good in this.

The Michael Moore quote is pure gold. I strongly disagreed with him in Election 2000 but he has seen fit to grow since and now we're copacetic.

I think he'd make a much more valuable secretary of defense- putting his military expertise to use, while minimizing the social/diplomatic aspects that he is weak on.

Maybe you should spend some time educating yourself on the man. Diplomacy is what he had to focus on when he was in charge of NATO's military; that turned out well, with some decorations from several countries around the world.

Energy Indepence. He didn't elaborate (i know not suprising) but he at least mentioned it. This is an issue we MUST not forget and could be a powerful tool to use against bush. This is one of the big reasons I back J Kerry.
