Hi Bill,

I have watched you for years and have always been somewhat of a fan. My son is reading Al Franken in his politics and media class at rutgers and is trying to convince me of your evil-doings, or "mis-doings" as my wife puts it. I keep telling him that Al is an atheist and that you are a man of god and a man who is looking out for me and him (I got that from your book title). He insists that I ask you to explain "why you work for a news channel that proports to be fair and balanced but whose owner has supported Republican candidates in the last three presedential elections and is the new Joseph Goebbals (I don't have time for spell check)???" (where does he get this crap?) and he thinks you are an atheist who pretends to be from working class america, "a believer in God only to get the support of all the God crazed conservatives in this country"... he says anyone who has gone to Harvard has certainly read Bertrand Russell's "Why I'm Not A Christian" and therefore, he says, "he couldn't possibly be Christian..."

well, I am a long way from being convinced of you being anything but my Humble Servant... however, he showed me a chart from Hannity's book, that is reprinted in Franken's, which lays out Reagan's budget proposal's versus congresses actual passed budgets... he also showed me the congressional almanac which pretty much proves Hannity printed incorrect information to make a point against democrats... shame on him... by the way if you haven't noticed by now I'd have to say you and Rush Limbaugh are beginning to look like complete fools, go ahead and add Hannity to that list... "good work franken I'll always remember you as the one who is looking out for us"... Bill, did you really think we were stupid enough to believe that you are looking out for us just because your book's title says so... it must not have been your idea to put the book out with that junk cover of you looking so compassionate and caring towards the ones you look after (you look like you're dressed for halloween with all that make-up on). By the way, you did a terrible job covering up your lies on NPR's fresh air, you sounded so fake. Before Al Franken, I never knew a bit about your foolishness... long live the man. Shape up. You have too much influence to be acting like a fool all the time... money corrupts... you learned that at Harvard.

p.s. If you really feel like I've misjudged you, just approach me in a human manner... I think the reason people shout epithets towards you all the time is because they're sick of the way you treat people. I always learned growing up that if I felt something was unjust, all I had to do was talk calm and rationally and people would see I was being honest. Deep down inside you are probably a good man, I just hope you are not a repressed you-know-what, they say Hannity might be... you never know what people have in their closets these days... look at Rush (remember when he said drug users should be deported from the country? My friend's writing an essay about that one)? Where is the right wing that I can trust??? Oh yeah, you're independant! Woops.

Sleep tight, Garrison Keilor and Franken did a number on you this weekend, but that's all in the past now.

I wonder if that'll get read on the air. Jeff has more patience for O'Reilly than I do, I'd lose interest right around the 3rd sentence - which would be "SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP"
