But not as much...I like them both a lot more than I like people like Kerry, Holy Joe, and Gephardt.

I like Kucinich too, obviously.

I like Sharpton and Brown but don't take them very seriously. (Not because they're Black, but because they're always portrayed as being extremely marginal candidates.)

I'm not sure about Edwards...

Someone needs to find out why a poll would hang there so long. Do they stay on the site that long?

consisently held in the 90% range. Only a month ago, he was at 91% with the same number of votes that Dean has now.

You find it hard to believe that 1.6 mil internet users would respond this way? Why?

I am sorry, but I need a better explanation of the poll still being available. I just did a search at CNN, and I did not find others that old still working.

I voted, and then tried again, several times. It seemed to accept the subsequent votes; it didn't display a message "Sorry, you've already voted," but the number of votes tallied did not increase. So, perhaps it isn't rigged.

It isn't a vote for our preference, it's a vote for whom we think is most likely to beat bush. In the election, that's what we'll be faced with, anyway, if our preferred candidate is not the nominee. As for me, anybody but bush.

but I wouldn't be suprised if there was some script out there written by some rabid nerd rigging the poll....

Anyway, a more interesting question: How the hell did Clark get so many people to think he is the best candidate before they even learned a thing about him? I think it is the "general" label. Americans, even liberals, are so awed by that. If you stick "General" in front of your name everyone thinks your some genius who will lay down the law to all your enemies. Americans are such suckers. Maybe Clark would be a winning candidate, but I am struck dumb once again by how quickly people jump to conclusions based on image alone. You can't seriously believe that millions of people are astute enough about politics and Clark to logically conclude that he would have the best chance to win. It has to be because he's a general.

Ha ha. Our legs are being pulled here. I am quite willing for someone to convince me it is accurate and real and all that. I am very open-minded.

I just did a search at CNN and can't find it. I did a search for Sept 23 and could not find it. Maybe I am not searching correctly.

They have stuff about the primary there, including one discussing different primaries, different candidates, and different candidate attributes.

President virtually tied with five Democratic challengers

Here is a poll mentioned in an article there the day before. I did not see one about that poll, and that is one reason I wondered. The numbers are just so far off.

From the above article:
SNIP...."Clark, the retired general who announced last week that he would seek the Democratic presidential nomination, emerged to lead all the Democrats by at least 9 percentage points.

Of the 423 registered Democrats or Democratic-leaning voters questioned in the poll, 22 percent said they would most likely support Clark in 2004...."

These figures put Clark ahead on September 22 and sound more realistic. It looks like that other poll had some problems. I will look again and see if there is an article about Sept. 23 one.
