LOL!! Powell says Wolfie was "received w/joy at many places he visited"
Edited on Sun Oct-26-03 12:12 PM by lebkuchen
Powell can make your typical American fundie believe he can spin straw into gold.

One American soldier is dead, more than a dozen Americans are injured, and Powell is still spinning hearts and flowers. His BS boggles the imagination.

on edit: Germany, France, and Russia are no longer willing to pledge money of support.

Our troops are screwed in so many ways.

ARTHUR:
I have no quarrel with you, good Sir Knight, but I must cross this bridge.
BLACK KNIGHT:
Then you shall die.
ARTHUR:
I command you, as King of the Britons, to stand aside!
BLACK KNIGHT:
I move for no man.
ARTHUR:
So be it!
ARTHUR and BLACK KNIGHT:
Aaah!, hiyaah!, etc.
{ARTHUR chops the BLACK KNIGHT's left arm off}

ARTHUR:
Now stand aside, worthy adversary.
BLACK KNIGHT:
'Tis but a scratch.
ARTHUR:
A scratch? Your arm's off!
BLACK KNIGHT:
No, it isn't.
ARTHUR:
Well, what's that, then?
BLACK KNIGHT:
I've had worse.
ARTHUR:
You liar!
BLACK KNIGHT:
Come on, you pansy!

{ARTHUR chops the BLACK KNIGHT's right arm off}

ARTHUR:
Victory is mine!
{kneeling}
We thank Thee Lord, that in Thy mer--
BLACK KNIGHT:
Hah!

Come on, then.
ARTHUR:
What?
BLACK KNIGHT:
Have at you!
{kick}
ARTHUR:
Eh. You are indeed brave, Sir Knight, but the fight is mine.
BLACK KNIGHT:
Oh, had enough, eh?
ARTHUR:
Look, you stupid bastard. You've got no arms left.
BLACK KNIGHT:
Yes, I have.
ARTHUR:
Look!
BLACK KNIGHT:
Just a flesh wound.

ARTHUR:
Look, stop that.
BLACK KNIGHT:
Chicken!

Chickennn!

ARTHUR:
Look, I'll have your leg.

Right!

ARTHUR chops the BLACK KNIGHT's right leg off

BLACK KNIGHT:
Right. I'll do you for that!
ARTHUR:
You'll what?
BLACK KNIGHT:
Come here!
ARTHUR:
What are you going to do, bleed on me?
BLACK KNIGHT:
I'm invincible!
ARTHUR:
You're a looney.
BLACK KNIGHT:
The Black Knight always triumphs! Have at you! Come on, then.

{ARTHUR chops the BLACK KNIGHT's last leg off}

BLACK KNIGHT:
Oh? All right, we'll call it a draw.
ARTHUR:
Come, Patsy.
BLACK KNIGHT:
Oh. Oh, I see. Running away, eh? You yellow bastards! Come back here and take what's coming to you. I'll bite your legs off!

4. I suppose an RPG up the rectal canal can be "joyful" for some
I hadn't really looked at RPGs in that light before, but if Powell says it's so, it must be.

2. Well, a counter-terrorism guy in "This Week" today said that
Rumsfeld's "leaked" memo proves that what he says in private and in public are 180 degrees apart.
Makes you trust him more a more every day, doesn't it? And his "slog" quote has been the laughing stock all over the place.

3. Belafonte warned y'all:
In an interview on San Diego radio station KFMB-AM last Tuesday, Belafonte compared Powell to a plantation slave who moves into the slave owner's house and says only things that will please his master.

"There's an old saying," Belafonte said in that interview. "In the days of slavery, there were those slaves who lived on the plantation and there were those slaves that lived in the house. You got the privilege of living in the house if you served the master ... exactly the way the master intended to have you serve him."

9. "I serve at the pleasure of the president."
so said Powell. Certainly fits with Belafonte's opinion.

Powell's statement really struck me as cryptic.

5. Well, Powell is just doing what he does best.
Talk. That's all it is. After all, this is how he's managed to scratch and claw his way to the top. It didn't happen by osmosis. Let's see...it started with the public relations incident of My Lai.

(I wonder if Powell ever thinks of Harry Belafonte?)

6. Note how one side (right side on screen) of his face is starting to twitch
Powell seems less and less sure of himself when I see him....He's still sticking to the Bush version of truth, but I have a feeling he could be on the verge of cracking!

7. Powell has lost all credibility
He should resign.

Russert brought up a quote of Powell's from 2001 where he stated Iraq didn't even have much conventional capacity to target it's neighbors. His response was something to the effect, "I didn't claim they didn't have any". All I could think of was visions of mushroom clouds and doomsday scenarios if we waited one more day to allow the inspections to continue.

11. Hey, you can't blame Powell for being a tad jovial about the visit!
Everything really IS perfect in Iraq today -- from Powell's perspective.

Wolf-0-Matic causes a lot of grief for Powell -- they almost started to have wolf take powell's position (said an unnamed WH spokesperson a number of months back). and when Tenet was falling on the sword for the 16 words, wolfie was talked about as being head of CIA. Wolfie is a threat to all.

so, really, Powell should be feeling pretty good today -- except the fact that the insurgents missed!

15. Gen. Dempsey said Wolfie wasn't a target, because, because, be....
Edited on Sun Oct-26-03 01:29 PM by lebkuchen
the attack required practice, planning and orchestration.

??

Right. So did 9-11. All targets were hit, except for one.

I don't see Dempsey's reasoning unless he's just lying. Granted, the General had been anticipating an attack against the hotels frequented by westerners since at least August, which begs the question of why he opened up the park road across from the hotel, when he knew Wolfie was in there.

Are we to believe that the timing, with the helicopter and the hotel where Wolfie was staying, was coincidental? Come on. The Iraqis, or whoever, were biding their time to bag the highest US official they could, the most "bang for the buck," as an exclamation mark to their message: GET OUT!

14. Hey, they were happy to see him because they realized that
they'd have a chance to pick him off later!

"Oh, look, there is Mr. Wolfowitz. Act happy while he is here and then we'll meet at the hotel with RPGs at midnight!"

Ok, so I'm evil. }(
