Westboro Baptist Church to protest Limbaugh

Fred Phelps, of godhatesfags.com is planning another of his hateful protests, this one against Rush Limbaugh.

This is beyond bizarre. Not only that, I thought Rush was in Arizona for treatment. It would be a hoot if Phred picketed the wrong treatment center.

drove past their church. I don't get around there very often so I don't think I had seen it at night for a long time. The poor neighbors. That banner is painted on the top of the church with HUGE spotlights on it and also huge spotlights on the upside down flags. It is lit up like the sun.

It sounds massive. Do that many people really buy into their message?

Fred, his wife, and various children have been on Sirius 149 OUTQ (the gay channel) several times on the McMullen and Johnson Show. You have got to hear some of their stuff. It almost becomes a comedy routine. Some of the stuff Fred says is so far out there. He picketed Fred Rogers (Mr Rogers) because he claimed he was a 'fag-enabler'. Fred also hates the ex-gay groups saying they are imposters and that gays can't change. As little as I like Limbleargh, the slimeball, he's not like Phelps. The closest equivalent to Phelps in the mainstream is Michael Savage. (I still can't believe that Weiner is now "mainstream," but these are Strange Days, Indeed).

But I'm not surprised at anything Phelps and his sad little inbred family-cult gets up to; these are people who actually went to NYC shortly after 9/11 with signs about how "God Hates America" (as in, we had 9/11 coming). I really think Phelps has a literal death wish. He's not interested in making friends: not Limbaugh, probably not even Savage (although it'd be an interesting pairing, in a traffic-accident kind of way). He is: a freak.
