Missiles struck yards from (Wolfowitz) his room on the 12th floor
Edited on Mon Oct-27-03 08:32 AM by dArKeR
The attack at 6am killed a US army colonel, and injured 18 others, including a British Treasury official. Wolfowitz, one of the authors of the war to remove Saddam Hussein, was visibly shaken by the attack, which struck yards from his room on the 12th floor. An Iraqi governing council spokesperson told the Guardian it had been "a near miss".

Sorry if everyone knows this already. I can't keep up. Just too much to read. I did a search and didn't seem to find this info out there.

All the news sources I see are calling this 'Ramadan Rampage'. It seems to me there is more proof this was an attempt to target Wolfowitz.

1. Yes, there are too many "coincidences"
for this to be anything but an assassination attempt. They knew beforehand when he was coming, where he was staying, what room he was in possibly. And set up their rocket barrage on a timer. They were trying to take his ass out.

2. But, but...
I thought it wasn't "personal"??

When they fire rockets into your hotel, it doesn't get any more personal.

11. Karma...
This is devine karma for Wolfowitz. He got a little slice of the action.

Maybe his being saved is to give hm a chance at redemption?

13. The Black Hawk helicopter
that was shot down in Tikrit on Sunday, happened about an hour or so after he had left the area in a helicopter.

I'd say someone in Iraq was trying to send the Wolfman a message.

BTW: Anyone else notice that we haven't seen hide nor hair of him since his little press conference on Sunday. If Iraq is so much safer now and Wolfie wasn't a target, why didn't he stick around and finish his photo ops?
