TV reminder: CBC to expose Bush-bin Laden links Wed. night
http://www.cbc.ca/fifth

On October 29th , at 9:00 p.m., the fifth estate begins its 29th season of investigative journalism.  ...

CONSPIRACY THEORIES

On September 11, 2001, pilotless airplanes were guided into the World Trade Center by homing beacons.  It wasn't a plane that hit the Pentagon, but a missile.  U.S. Air Force planes weren't scrambled to intercept the hijacked planes that morning because the White House was behind the events of that tragic day.  Incredible?  Definitely.  Outlandish?  Absolutely.  But, there are lots of people who believe that at least some parts of these stories are true.

In a special season premiere investigation the fifth estate's Bob McKeown finds that even the most outlandish conspiracy theory may have its basis in a legitimate question.  In the course of separating fact from fiction, Bob delves into the labyrinthine and surprising ties between the Bushes and the Bin Ladens.  What he finds out may startle you as much as any conspiracy theory.

If the American media gets wind of this, expect Canada to be even more blacklisted by redneck types.

10. Yes, CBC is available in border cities via airwaves...
... and is one of the channels on basic cable.

3. Last year, the producer wrote a pretty good review
of Nafeez Mosaddeq Ahmed's 9/11 conspiracy book The War on Freedom in a Toronto paper, so I have hopes.

The CBC crew spent a lot of time with Mike Ruppert, too, and he's cautiously optomistic:

There to film me at the Walker Stage was an A Team production crew from the Canadian Broadcasting Company, well into work on a major documentary about 9/11. I had spoken with the producer, Bruce Livesey, several times from California and had been surprised to hear him acknowledge the accuracy of my research. He had also found material that corroborated my controversial work in the case of Delmart "Mike" Vreeland. Vreeland, who had claimed to be a US Naval officer, while incarcerated in a Canadian jail, had written a note warning of the attacks a month before they took place. He had also provided startlingly accurate details about the murder of Canadian intelligence operative Mark Bastien even before the facts were known to the Canadian government. Bastien's murder occurred well after Vreeland had left Moscow in 2000.

I will be eager to see their finished product.

Another gratifying moment came when the CBC took me to Ground Zero to shoot footage of me looking at a place I had visited twice before. As I was leaning over a railing, looking down into the still-stark ruins with the CBC crew filming me, a New Yorker leaned over and asked me who I was. I told him and I told him what I thought had happened. Without hesitation, the man, who had been there on that fateful day, said that he absolutely believed my analysis and thanked me for being there.

Times have indeed changed.

We next went to the Radisson Hotel where the CBC crew filmed an hour and a half interview with me....

4. Should be interesting
I saw a preview for this program a couple nights ago. They had a short clip from one of Mike Ruppert's (of www.fromthewilderness.com ) lectures in which MR stated that Bush had foreknowledge of 911.

Ruppert claims that he gave the CBC an extensive interview for this documentary and the CBC producer told him that he (the producer) had corroborated much of Ruppert's research.

We next went to the Radisson Hotel where the CBC crew filmed an hour and a half interview with me. After that, it was off to the Riverside Church where Dick Cheney had, just hours before, spoken at an event sponsored by the New York City Port Authority. The network vans were packing up to leave as we arrived. They had no interest in what was planned for later that night. It was their loss. As it turned out, press from several countries including Greece was there, along with the CBC and representatives from influential magazines likes Harper's.

7. Will This Be On NWI?
I was checking both the CBC and NWI sites and all I came up with was: CBC's Newsworld: Tuesday at 10:00 p.m.& Wednesday at 1:00 a.m. either way I missed it.

Will it be repeated or aired on NWI? I get the channel on ComCast Digital Cable (and I know many others who do...some who just recently found it). Any additional info would be helpful.

Here's NWI's schedule; it doesn't look like it's carried. Sorry.

9. Saw an interview with the show's host this morning.
On CBC Newsworld this morning there was a brief interview with the show's host. From what was discussed it appears that the show will focus on the financial connections between the Bush and bin Laden families and the negative influence those connections had on the fight against terroism, also the role of the Saudis in supporting Al Quaida through the payment of "protection money" to keep Al Quaida from comitting acts of terrorism in Saudi Arabia.

For what it's worth the host said that they debunked the more "outrageous" conspiracy theories.

15. I'm glad they are not playing up the "outrageous" conspiracy theories
Something like that will lead most average Americans (or Canadians) to discount the whole thing. I would.

I wonder if this is a foreshadowing of Michael Moore's "Fahrenheit 911"

24. Outrageous conspiracy theories
Edited on Wed Oct-29-03 11:14 PM by Sick of Bullshit
Like the one that maintains that a madman hiding in the caves of Bummfuque, Afghanistan, one of the most isolated places in the world, was able to plan and execute this attack so masterfully, using 19, maybe 20 henchmen, that the mighty US Air Force just sat back in stunned disbelief, and the pretzeldunce himself just sat, stupified, in a 2nd grade classroom, while airplanes were hijacked and allowed to fly unmolested into important American buildings, including the nerve center of the US military.

Now THAT is a pretty outrageous conspiracy theory.

27. Yah, that one. Talk about confabulations!! What a load of shit the
'official' story is. But most Americans are dumb as rocks and will just wave their little flags frantically to ensure that any sort of rational thought does not enter their personal space.

13. Channel 9 in Detroit/Windsor
I watched much of the CBC's coverage of 9-11, because it was much more professional, and a lot less biased.

23. I caught it too. I'm crunching it now. The question is webhosting...
I'm having some technical difficulties using the GFP server right now. Hopefully we can get that worked out and I'll upload it there later. If not I can only host on my slower server unless someone else knows of a good place I could put it to share with folks who missed it tonight?
