Joe Wilson in chat today re the Iraq Resolution...
Wilson said the problem was not giving President Bush the authority to go to war, but Bush's abusing the authority to take military action inconsistent with what he had told Congress in seeking their vote.

no one has any business pretending they did not know what bush was going to do. robert byrd issued a warning in no uncertain terms. it was on npr, fer chrissakes. to say nothing of the fact that anyone who doesn't remember the gulf of tonkin shouldn't have been elected d.c. dogcatcher. :grr:

5. Yes, But Wilson is Adopting the Right Approach Politically
He is a smart operator. The first priority by a wide margin is to nail Bush for his administration's actions.

Enabling a criminal is not the same as committing the crime itself. It is a very distant second, and it should not be the focal point of the discussion.

how checks and balances work. Because they refuse to put any checks and balances on Bush* on many of the bills they send to him.

2. That is wrong.
No president, ever, ever, should be given the power that congress should have.
I like Wilson, but he is wrong on that.
