Springer considering running again?
I just heard part of the intro for Hardball and they mentioned him. I think he's going to be on the program today - or be discussed. Show starting now.

1. Do you think we could get him to run for
governor of California after we recall Arnold?

2. Maybe Governor 2006
Jerry Springer recently spoke at the Knox Co. Dems. dinner outside Columbus and, while he didn't confirm anything, it looks like he may run for Governor in 2006. Personally, I'm not a huge fan, but I was sent a copy of his speech that was pretty impressive.

3. If you've never caught him talking politics, DO IT
He's incredibly bright, articulate, knowledgeable, and he doesn't take crap from Repugnantcans.

7. I heard him speak on TV and
I think he is great. I have never watched his TV show, so I have no bias about him. I hope we start hearing from him on a regular basis, before he runs.

8. yep, Ohio governor's race in '06

The timing is pretty good. Ohio is getting pretty tired of its Republicans (Taft barely got reelected against a nobody), Jerry is probably getting very tired of his show. And the proposed Senate run gave Jerry the PR breakthrough (all the shock value and 'moral' indignation is now done with)/dry run with the voters he needs.

He does talk very sensibly and I've found him very likeable. He does need to build up an image of being hardnosed and able to play cleverer hardball with the inane and insane on a daily basis, which is my impression of the basic terms of Ohio politics. After that it's not going to be hard- he needs to talk up bringing high tech employers to the state and rebuilding infrastructure, project optimism, and talk inclusion of wary moderate Republicans as well as minorities.
