John Edwards ahead in Tennessee primary...
..at least that is what I gathered from this article:

With Tennessee Democrats getting charged up for the presidential primary in about 100 days, the party chairman sees a wide-open race but doesn't count Joe Lieberman in the top five.

Randy Button said the Connecticut senator - Tennessean Al Gore's running mate in 2000 - is lagging behind U.S. Sen. John Edwards of North Carolina, retired Gen. Wesley Clark of Arkansas, U.S. Rep. Dick Gephardt of Missouri, former Vermont Gov. Howard Dean and U.S. Sen. John Kerry of Massachusetts.

Edwards
Clark
Gephardt
Dean
Kerry

1. A bit of a stretch, innit?

The article says Lieberman is behind the real contenders. It doesn't say if they are listed in order of poll results.

2. I don't think it is a stretch...
..short of any official poll findings, the Dem head listed the candidates - not in alphabetical order.

The only conclusion is that is how they are ranking.

Not conclusive but not really a stretch.

3. Try reading the piece
"Button said he has not seen polls on the Democratic presidential candidates in Tennessee."

4. Of course, what do the expect?
"Randy Button said the Connecticut senator - Tennessean Al Gore's running mate in 2000 - is lagging behind U.S. Sen. John Edwards of North Carolina,"

Gore couldn't hold Tennesee, so why should his DLC partner hold it?

I'm thinking that Tennesse is a bellwhether state, no? Birth place of Davy Crockett, one of my heros.

5. The guy didn't give an order. Clark is probably first...
but he's leaning Edwards, so he cited Edwards first. I wouldn't really read anthing at all into this piece other than that Lieberman is not doing well
