1. why can't you make up your mind?
Are you leaving the door open for a deathbed conversion if you get scared?

BTW - no flameage intended. I was an agnostic for many years before I settled on the negative formulation of atheism.

Don't believe in immaculate conception, think the naughty way is quite miraculous enough, thanks.

Don't believe Jesus = God, but think he had a purpose.

etc, etc, etc...

Dont' want to hijack the thread though, so ... carry on!

7. I agree
Jusus had a purpose just like Threau, Gahandi, MLK, Mrs Moose, they are, or have been thinkers who loved all people and tried to tell us to do the same. Mr Moose

12. I don't have faith one way or the other...
my gut says that no god exists, but my brain tells me that to be sure of that would be to have faith in the non-existance of a supernatural being.

18. Do you get sick of people confusing agnosticism with atheism?
I'm an agnostic and get that ALL the time. So-and-so: "How do you know there is no God?" Me: "I didn't say there was no God. I said no one can prove that there is or is not a God." So-and-so: "That means you don't believe in God." And on and on...

23. Yes....
and then there's the people who don't know what an agnostic is: "Are you sure you know what that means, or do you just like using big words?" Or maybe I just have too many bad memories of ignorant calssmates (I've been an agnostic since about 10, and an atheist for one or two years before that.)

...and what do you say to the ignorant ones who believe agnostics "can't make up their mind?"

24. Well...
in my youth, I suddenly realized that no one could prove that a god could exist. Keenly interested in the world and science and mathematics, I realized that since God couldn't be proven, there was no point to believing in him to me. For lack of a better term, I called myself an athiest for a few years, but after researching the matter a bit more, I found that my beliefs corresponded closer to agnostics.
