So, I'm making some home improvements....
Today's agenda includes laying down some ceramic tile in front of my fireplace. I picked out some wonderful terra cotta tiles with burgundy diamond-shaped accents. It shold look great when I'm finished. I borrowed a wet-saw from my dad and I have all the other necessary tools and supplies to get started. Sounds nice, huh?

Here's the problem. I can't friggin find the tiles that I purchased at Home Depot two months ago! I KNOW they're either in the house or the basement or maybe the garage somewhere, but I can't remember where I put them. They sat in the living room floor for nearly three weeks, before I grew tired of looking at them and stowed them away somewhere until I felt like starting my stupid little project.

/pointless, frustrated post

1.  try this
maybe it will trigger your mind retrace your steps from the day you got tired of looking at them. Start at the point where your tile was. I know it may sound silly but sometimes doing this helps me find things I've misplaced.
Good luck when you get done take pictures to share with us if you want.

2. Good idea
but I can't remember what I did last week in my spare time. Memory is funny like that. I still remember the phone number of my highschool sweetheart (I'm 36). For any other Ohioan DUers, I remember the eye-test chart numbers at the DMV. I worked there for one summer while I was home for college. Left Eye is 795823. Right eye is 534268. Both eyes is 563472.

Bah. I'll likely just turn the place upside-down until I find them.

4. sorry I can't be there
to help you out.....I'm good at finding lost items at my house. I in no way think that reflects well on me it just means I ought to be better organized!

Would you of stuck them in a closet or a box? Okay so try to remember if there are things you've added to those places since the day you put the tiles away would they be under those things? If anyone lives with you would they of moved the tiles?

5. try this
Stand where the tiles last were and pretend they are there. Pick them up and pretend to put them away. This will take you to the place where you think they should be and that's prob'ly where they are.

6. For me a 2 hour project takes 6 hours finding the tools.
I often go room to room scanning each cubic foot, floor to ceiling wall to wall to wall as done in the Purloined Letter. Usually works for me.

How heavy were they and was is warm when you brought them in? The garage.

Did you want to see the color coordination? The house or whichever room sidetracked you.

Good luck.

7. Aaaaa-HA!
Found 'em! They were behind the couch. I remember being in a hurry to tidy up the place before a (ahem) friend came over. Off to work now! Send good vibes that I won't cut off a finger.
