After 17 years, I FINALLY walked the Golden Gate bridge
I've driven over the darn thing 100's of times ... for the first time yesterday I took advantage of a weekend in the Bay Area to fulfill another one of life's little adventures, and walk across.

This beautiful old orange hunk of steel truly is one of the wonders of the world.



Next up: Climb El Capitan

1. I know how you feel...it was fantastic
Boy, it takes a lot longer than you think! The day I went up, the wind was just howling, too. This was in June, and it was about 50 degrees on that bridge. I left Sonoma that morning at about 80 degrees!

2. Was it scary?
I biked across the Missouri River near Boonville and I thought it was VERY freaky. There was plenty of room, but there was this litte space between the railing and the pavement that I thought my tire could get locked between sending me careening over my handlebars and into the river below.

What can I say? I have a very active imagination. ;-)

How long is the bridge?

You're awfully handsome and very attractive... but I have a hard time beliving that you can still pass for seventeen. ;-) :-)

P.S. Congrats. I've driven across dozens of times too. I've even driven UNDER it as well (way back when it was permitted)... but I think it would definitely be cool to walk across.

How long did it take??
