The funniest Farley sketch ever!

"I'm gonna be your shadow. Here's you; here's me. Here's you; here's <falls into the coffee table>."

3. No, but...
My family used to live in a cardboard box in the middle of the highway. Used to work 25 hours a day just to make ends meet....

7. spent 44 days in my 70 vw bus
driving from Denali National Park in Alaska, down Hwy 101 into S.F. then east Utah, Colorado, New Mexico, then back home to Missouri.

I think abt it every day. I miss that freedom. It must be said I had plenty of money after working all summmer in the park. Magical time.

10. Beautiful...I'm going to circumnavigate Australia later this year.......
Should be pretty cool really....well HOT actually, but a lot of fun! It'll take a few months I reckon, and the van gets shitty gas mileage, especially since I lobbed a steel roof rack on this weekend.

Still, it's 4WD and it's got big wheels on it.

Any tips for keeping cool and/or sane whilst doing a long-distance tour?

12. take a nice fluffy pillow for your bottom
fluffing it every 100 miles or so. we took all our own food and drinks. it was awesome. the bus had no a/c, only a dashboard fan that circulated the hot air. lol

16. You want me to fluff my bottom every 100 miles?....Pervert.........

A good plan. I only did about 500 km this weekend and it took its toll on my little behind....

My van also has no AC. It's only me and my girlfriend in it though, and we've taken all the rear seats out and bought a decent folding mattress for the back.....and a mosquito net.........and all manner of weird shit.

Trying to cut down on the amount of crap at the moment!

18. It's better than fluffing yr top (sometimes)
My van was the camper model (minus the pop top)

I drove from Alabama to Missouri that winter during the '89 cold snap. I had to cut the bottom of my sleeping bag out to stay warm while driving, it was miserable. The muffler fell off in Kentucky.
70 miles from home the head cracked from the extreme temp changes.

Just a lovely little jaunt, that was.

19. Cool stories...mine's using oil like there's no tomorrow..Bush'll be happy
It now has a top speed of about 100km/h with the roof rack on it (unladen) and my girlfriend (who half-owns the van) can't drive it in a straight line or use 2nd gear....

I may have to do a LOT of driving come November. Did you know that crossing Australia is equivalent to driving from London to Moscow? Well, we're going AROUND the whole country.

Bonkers.

20. Holy cats, London to Moscow!
In my vans final days, I had to keep a case of oil on hand at all times. Drive across town (abt 15 min.) = a qt.

13. took 100's of pics
but they do not do the landscape of Alaska much justice. If I could recommend the trip of a lifetime, it would be Alaska. Beyond words.
