Do you have a power-washer? Do you use it?
I'm thinking of getting a light duty one to clean off the patio, the front porch, and clean the outside of the house from time to time.

Am I nuts? I guess there is a "light duty" one that might be right for what I need.

On the other hand, I'm afraid I'll buy one and never use it.

Anybody here routinely use one of these?

1. I don't but...
the in-laws do and they use it all the time.....clean the patio with it, around the pool, cleans the siding on the house, etc, etc.

I'd buy one myself but why do that when I can use theirs?

2. they really work...
You can get a "Kracher" at any Home Depot or Lowes for about $150 or so. 1300 psi will clean the siding, the deck, the patio and just about anything else you want.Easy to use, plugs into 110. Just used it on the deck furniture yesterday.

10. We stopped selling Karcher...
we now have "Husky" pressure washers. Which are probably Karchers with red plastic tops instead of yellow ones.

I'd ask the paint department guy when the next shipment of reconditioned gas ones are coming in. They have 2400psi reconditioned gas ones for not much more than the 1600psi electric ones.

Had a Briggs and Stratton something-or-other, made a little business out of it. Not a bad thing to have around

7. I use mine all the time
I use it to clean the driveway, the boat, the cars, the decks. I also use it to blow leaves out of the driveway during that time of the year. I have 200 ft of driveway and live in the woods. leaves are an issue around here.

Do not use it to clean:
The baby during diaper changes
Small animals
medium sized animals
your wife.
Your mother in law

12. It was a good investment for us
Of course, fiance had to have the biggest, baddest power washer he could find.

Last year he used it to blast all of the bad paint off of his Mom's house before we repainted it. It was faster and easier than scraping paint!

He uses it to wash the cars, clean the driveway, knock dead branches down off of the trees, clean the outside of the windows and terrorize me if I happen to be outside while he's using it.

What can I say? At least fiance gets to have fun with it and he does end up doing chores cheerfully he wouldn't ordinarily do without me having to bitch!

13. Thanks everybody!!
I'm now doing some "pre-shopping" online to get a feel for what I might buy.

There are lots of light duty ones that look good and versatile. I think that's what I'll use the most.

Thanks everybody for your tips!!

14. Gawd, we need one!
Our siding is filthy. Wonder how much it costs to rent (item 179 on my honey-do list !)

15. I have a light duty one and it is great for cleaning the porch, patio,
driveway, etc. I also put windex outdoor in it and use it as a quick way to clean the windows and screens. Best part is that my son thinks it's fun to use :).
