Remember when SNL monologues. . .
Edited on Sun May-02-04 01:46 AM by ironflange
were actually monologues? Jeez, it seems these days that practically every last regular has to come on stage at the beginning. Do they have that big a surplus of mediocre material that they have to turn the monologue into yet another lame skit? End of rant, I'm off to bed.

1. Well...

Long story short, you dont have to have talent these days...you just have to be good looking...if you are good looking you can be dumb as a rock and have zero talent.

So they have to have the regulars come out and help them, because they are talentless losers.

3. Too bad you went to bed.
They had a side-splitting skit where one girl, a perennial downer keeps ruining her friends' day at disney world by spouting depressing factoids every few minutes. "Mad Cow disease lies dormant in your system for years before turning you into jelly!"

The character is supposed to be glum, but she gigglesd, which made the audience laugh. After that, no mattter what she did, it was snowballing contagious laughter.

Hilarious.

5. I agree with Uncle Ray
The "Debbie Downer" skit premise was so weak it was begging for a punchline. Unfortunately, the joke was on all performers engaged in the skit.

This season has shown a continual lack of professionalism and a tendancy to crackup while in the middle of farce. That sort of behavior might have played in the days of Red Skelton and Carol Burnett. I'd like to expect more from SNL.

Tina Fey half-nailed one decent joke during Weekend Update, but otherwise last night's show was a complete waste of viewer time.

7. With the exception of the Phil Hartman/Jan Hooks cast, SNL has been
a complete waste of viewer time since the Not Ready For Prime Time Players-era ended.

6. When you have an ex-Disney start turned strip club star on..
What's not to be expected? Guess that was a little harsh. I'm probably just jealous. :eyes:
