Son of Bill Medley (Righteous Brothers) joins Paul Revere & The Raiders
http://www.paulrevereraiders.com/darrin.html

The band has been pretty much Paul Revere and hired guns since original lead vocalist Mark Lindsay left in the mid-70s. They're a regular county fair and Las Vegas attraction.

For my friends in Silicon Valley, they'll be at the Alameda County Fair in Pleasanton on June 24th.

Darrin Medley is Bill Medley's son (the deep voice of the Righteous Brothers). He joined the band this year on drums and vocals.

Many of you were not even close to being born when the original band had its biggest hits...

1. I love Paul Revere & The Raiders!
One of the most sadly underrated singles bands of the 1960s.

"Steppin' Out," "Hungry," "Kicks," "Just Like Me," "Good Thing," "The Great Airplane Strike," "Ups and Downs," "Him or Me--What's it Gonna Be?" Hey, what's not to love?

4. It's called "Indian Reservation."
And frankly, I never thought it was their greatest song. Not even close.

2. Met Mark a few years back
My attorney was defending Mark, who was sued by Paul because he was billing himself as "Mark Lindsay, formerly of Paul Revere and the Raiders". Paul claimed there could be no mention of the group name.

Can't we just get along...:eyes:

5. I fell in love with Mark Lindsay
in 1966. I was 10. I still think he's cool.

I also fell in love with Charlie Coe, who left in 1968. That was a long, long time ago...........

Some of my favorite songs were Raiders songs.......

Kicks
Indian Reservation
Him or me?
Hungry

6. They were always the high point of "Where the Action Is"
'Member that show?

I saw Mark Lindsay perform at a local street fair 'round about a dozen years ago. Wore the same costume and had the same hair...and an incredibly old face. I watched him perform a pretty fair "Kicks," thinking Man, that guy must have a lot of alimony to pay to put himself through this...

10. I was never a Keith Allison fan...
...I always thought it was like replacing Brian Jones in the Rolling Stones with Shaun Cassidy.

I second that "FEH!"

11. wrong Keith
Keith Allison didn't record "98.6". It was some guy who just went by "Keith".

The Raiders rule.

Carry on.

13. I stand corrected
But that song was so insipid, you can see how I became confused.

Good page about Raiders history:

9. He just...supposedly...retired, and lives in Maui
...but you never know when the next comeback concert is just around the corner.

I remember "Action," but do you remember its lesser follow-up, "It's Happening?"

12. I remember it well.
"Happening '67" and "Happening '68" were on Saturdays on ABC. They added a noontime weekday show, "It's Happening", in the summer of '68.
