O Lovely Colorado, thy priorities are messed up.
:D

...Once again, the state I love and live in has confused me. CO is already on double-secret probation from me for not letting me buy liquor on Sundays (or buy a car, as it turns out, but I'm letting that slide).

There's a three-month waiting period ("cooling off period") between the time you file for divorce and the time you get one. No matter what. So I could get a handgun tomorrow, but I have to wait on the D. What's the message there?!? :D

Go figger.

1. You can't buy alcohol on Sundays?
Hell, you can buy alcohol on Sundays here in Texas. TEXAS!!! Of course it has to be after noon, so you aren't drunk in church :eyes: but still!

8. We got nothing on Texas drive-thrus.
I was there about 15 years ago and saw a store advertising 'drive-thru liquor and ammo'.

Someone was trying to get the blue laws repealed last election, but didn't get enough signatures. It's the liquor store owners and car dealers that are keeping these laws in place. They save money because if you want booze, you'll buy it on Saturday or Monday so they don't lose many sales and they don't have to pay someone to man the store on Sunday. Same with car dealers.

Frankly, I can't believe they stand constitutional muster. How can the state prevent stores from opening on Sunday? Shouldn't a Jewish car dealer be able to change his closed day to Saturday?

10. AND we couldn't go to the mall on Sunday until about 86 or 87!

There was NOTHING to do in this state on Sunday before certain blue laws were repealed. Especially if you were a bored college student in Denton, Texas and wanted to avoid doing design projects.

I can remember my mom and I went to Disney World in 1980, and when they told us the Florida malls were open on Sunday we thought we'd died and gone to heaven!

4. Hey, they are just trying to save your soul...
... because those who purchase a car on a Sunday are condemned to burn in the eternal fires of hell, suffering a damnation that few mortals care to ponder.

Or so it would seem, according to the state legislature...

6. MN also no liquor or car sales on Sunday
There was a move to repeal the Sunday prohibition on car sales but there was strong opposition -- from the car dealers! Apparently they feel that since cars are not bought impulsively, the car sales business isn't hurt by the one day prohibition and they like having a day off.

7. California doesn't have any Sunday laws
at least that I know about. I was shocked when I moved to Ohio briefly and I couldn't buy wine or hard liquor on Sunday.
