Democratic National Convention - anyone going as a Delegate?
I was lucky this weekend to be chosen to go to Boston to be a delegate for my state at the National Convention. This is my first time going and I was wondering if anyone else plans on going.

I was all excited coming home from the state convention but now i'm like man I have to buy airline tickets find a hotel and a cheap one but be as close to the Convention as possible and then yada yada yada. But I know it will be an experience of a lifetime.

6. Each state is assigned a hotel

The DNC has reserved most of the city.

I'm a candidate to be a delegate but our delegates are elected at our state convention later this month. We have quite a slate of candidates and the odds of me, from a small county, being elected are very slim. Sadly.

Isn't your state party making travel arrangements for the delegation??

I'd love to be able to tag along, but I'm not sure they'll let me. I like to think of myself as pretty damn partisan, in fact I'm so shamelessly partisan I sometimes scare people, but I'm Henry Clay compared to her.

4. Which state is she coming from?
And yeah I know what you mean. I have a 5 month old son and I don't want to be away from him for a whole week. I'm trying to talk my husband into going up there. That me be even harder than making my travel plans.

7. How tough was it to be elected?
The competition is very stiff here in Maine. People are mounting large-scale campaigns for the positions.
