7. Me either
Unfortunately Win2K shares a gene with that monstrosity. I tried the patches two weeks ago and the second one f***ed up my computer - took me 12 hours to make it right again. What the hell am I supposed to do now?

Time for a linux server with a firewall and screw the patches.

I don't need no stinking patches.

6. Greetings, fellow scientist...
I just love all the people in my group running around talking about installing patches on their home machines. Seems like every other week somebody wants to know if I need a copy of the cd's they are burning with patches on them.

Nope. My iMac and iBook are just fine.

5. It's absolutely ridiculous
I maintain UNIX servers for a living. I've spent more time this week trying to keep my W2K box running than all my UNIX servers combined.

8. One better, my home computer is an Emac
Great protection against all sorts of nasties, viri, spyware, the majority of popups, the whole gamut of ills the plague the cursed Wintel boxes.

Sad to say though, I'm stuck with this POS Dell at work. At least they do the automatic patch downloads and maintain a good firewall, but still I feel that it is a POS. Give me the elegance, the beauty, the intelligence of a Mac anyday. Worth every penny I spent on it.
