HEY, Knock it off!

This is such a cool place to hang out most of the time, but lots of you guys seem awfully snippy lately.

To be brief, you people are the best Americans I know, and I hate to see you fighting.

Look at what a great group of people you guys are:

Wy, just in this forum alone...

You've got a debate about the coolest metal album ever, you've got jchild's personal voyage of fast-food discovery, you've got JanMichael cruising Tampa listening to Spearhead, Syn_Dem gearing up to take on a campus of RWingnuts in the Fall, Ulysses' curious anti-cream cheese bias. You're talking about Yeates, Cancer, your kids, your lovers, your pets. You've got liberal_veteran losing his/her job, and WilliamPitt spending $600 on dinner (I haven't been able to do that for a while, but I don't begruge him--I'm kind of of the Socialist mindset that eliminating First Class isn't the objective, eliminating Second Class is, i.e. let's work on sharing the wealth so that everyone can have the occasional $600 dinner, or have a burger and donate the other $595 to the cause of his choice).

You're all chiseling out the America you want to live in, the best way you can, and what you all have in common is you all come HERE to do that. I would think that objective would be best served by y'all supporting eachother a little more, and uniting against the Common Enemy (who needs not be named on this thread :hi: ) .

Okay, now I look like some superior-acting Canadian, but that ain't the case. I just think of the FR spies in here who just eat this up, you guys all quibbling and muttering.

So, don't befoul the sandbox!

It needs to be self correcting though, not through draconian enforcement.

I think most of the "instigators" will get bored and go play somewhere else for awhile, that's what usually happens so don't get too disturbed by the outbursts.

I think what some are forgetting is that we can discuss/debate tough topics if we take care to keep our cool.

Hell I pop off a far Lefty Socialist thread on occasion and, generally speaking, they get contentious but stay civil.

It's just the way the question or opinion is delivered.
