This is a post from one of my animal rescue groups. This old guy is in Maryland, but transportion can be arranged if you are interested in adopting him.

From: Linda and John Mercer <wishstar@sbcglobal.net>
Subject: MD (but will transport to approved home) - 15-16 year old senior needs home

If you are one of the special people with a special place in your heart for an older cat, you will want to know about this very sweet old guy who needs a home:

I will arrange transport to an approved home, if need be. All information that I have about "Frisco" is on the webpage above. If you are interested in adopting him, please contact

1. Gorgeous kitty!
I adopted two adult cats, one Himalayan teddy bear and one Maine coon lap cat. It takes a little while to bond with an adult kitty, but when it happens, that kitty turns into a very grateful little beast.

Adult cats come complete with a set of manners. In fact, it took quite a while to teach the teddy bear that yes, he could get up on my furniture. Apparently the former owners were fussy about cat hair.

Adopting adult cats has been very rewarding. I've had one for eleven years and the other for nine years. After they're gone, I'll go back to the Humane Association and find another adult kitty to love.

2. I too like adult cats
I adopted a Maine Coon Cat. I never thought I would take in an adult, but I did. I have not regretted it, he is a wonderful friend and I saved a lot of money. If i had gotten a young kitten I probably would of had to spend 700 dollars for this breed. instead you can get one for a small adoption fee. Since The cat should live for 15 years it is only a small time you have with Kitten before it gets older. So why spend several hundred dollars. Get high priced kitty for cheap, by getting an adult.

3. I've always adopted homeless kittens in the past . . .
but after seeing the adult cats stay at the rescue center for weeks and weeks with no "takers," my husband and I have decided that we will only take adults from now on. We have six at the moment, but two are getting very old and feeble, so it looks like we will have room for more soon (sad, but that's life).

I know Frisco will get a good home -- he's adorable and his story is a heart breaker! Let us know if you hear how it all turns out!
