What a SHITTY Day I have had
My desktop computer CRASHED,,,big time.. I have been on the phone all day long trying to get it up and running, and apparently I am SCREWED..Before anyone asks..No I did not back up my stuff.:(...

It did finally force me to use the laptop I bought almost 2 yrs ago and am using for the FIRST time.. That only took me a few hour to figure out how to get the internet thingie hooked up.:(:(

I am NOT a happy camper.

I had reports to print out tonight, and now I cannot.. I will have to pay someone to try and recover what I had on it, and even then there is not way of knowing what I lost...since Kevin in India had me try a recovery from my disk..(he said I would lose "some" documents.:(:(..

I almost think it's not worth trying to recover the stuff..Maybe I need a fresh start.. The only reason I kept AOL was because I had a HUGE favorites file, and did not know how to transfer the stuff.. Maybe I can get used to IE :(''So far , it hurts my wrist to type on this thing,:(

3. Hugs to you!!

That is painful, I know.

We lost a harddrive a few years ago and I think we bought a recovery disk and it did recover some stuff. But it brought everything up in bits and pieces, so it wasn't terribly useful. I don't know if they've got anything better these days, but it's damned expensive. So whatever you do, make sure you ask what the files will look like after they're recovered.

4. I'm so sorry
I know what you are going through. Our new network admin decided I just HAD to upgrade to Windows Professional 2000. I told him I prefered it if he left me alone, I could not afford to lose my data. He said no problem and backed everything up to the network. He wiped my hard drive clean and then couldn't find the back up on the network. Seven years of digital archives of all the publications I have done for my school are gone...
so this is from me to you:

:argh:

5. What a BUMMER!!!
(..gee.. I haven't said THAT in years...:-))

I'd like to suggest that you hookup your desktop keyboard, mouse and monitor to the laptop... this way you get back to your comfort zone... full sized keyboard and a screen that you're used to looking at... just use the laptop as a CPU...

once you're back in your comfort zone, you can breathe a little easier and work on recovering (or not) the data in your dead computer...

hope everything works out for you... :hi:
