A bloke was killed earlier this year in Aus by a swooping magpie. He (the bloke) was 73, bird got him in the eye and knocked him over, and he hit the pavement pretty hard.

The trick is, they are less likely to do it if you are looking at them, so school kids wear icecream buckets with eyes painted on the back on their way to school. They do, serioulsy.

They're vicious! I knew it!

One less thing for you to be paranoid about mate, it's not just you. And as you can see by the article, they don't discriminate on age or race either. Crafty bastards that they are :-)

It's one of the great things about Australia, all the wierd stuff kills you. We don't have any large carnivores like bears, but we have the deadliest snakes on the planet. Big spiders (with the exception of the Funnel Web) don't kill you, but little ones no bigger than a dime will. A magpie can kill you, so can other birds like the cassowary (check out the 'horn' on this, http://rainforest-australia.com/cass.html)

We even have seashells that kill, really.

All these enviro types are saying save the animals, but we need to save ourselves
