DU TECHIES! "This program has performed an illegal operation..."
"...and will be shut down."

I keep getting that message on my browser! I do clear the cookies, but that doesn't work! HELP!

8. I get the same message using Netscape 7.X when I open pdf files.
Most of the time it works, but probably one out of five times it crashes Netscape. I don't have the absolute newest version. Don't know if that makes a difference.

9. Clear the cache
rather than the cookies.

Most often your browser crashes because your cached pages are limiting the amount of room you have to work in. Open one more window and it can't, it all collapses.

10. If you can get your browser to stay open at all
Try going to:

http://housecall.trendmicro.com

and run their free, web-based scanner. It may be able to find any non-Windows stuff that may be messing you up.

12. Definitely not a techie but I solved the problem by going to microsoft
support site, searching the error message and then following the instructions that solved the problem. If I can do it, you most certainly CAN.

13. Try unchecking the box that says allow third party browser extensions

I just fixed my Mom's IE like that.

It's in your internet options.

14. C:\Windows\Temp
delete all of the files in this folder
delete any .chk files on the root of C:\
reboot

Start in SAFE Mode
Turn off your screen saver
Defrag
When it's finished, reboot
