DU Techies Need help with Norton Internet Security

I have Norton Internet Security 2002 which I keep updated. My computer is old, I'm running Windows ME. Lately, I can't get NIS to start. I have tried running it from the shortcut on my desktop, from the programs menu and also using the Windows run function. Nothing happens. Today, I was able to run a live update but I don't know if the firewall is enabled since I can't start the da*n program. I have tried to uninstall the program, but it tells me that I have to login as supervisor first. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!!

2. don't know if this will help, but . . .

awhile ago I started getting popups saying that my Norton Antivirus could not scan incoming e-mails . . . seems to have cleared itself up, though, so maybe it had something to do with Symantec . . . I'm running the same operating system . . .

4. Dump the Norton firewall, get Zone Alarm

it's free, and it's the best firewall in the business.

Log on as the supervisor, disable or uninstall the firewall. Put on Zone Alarm.

Also, Windows ME, is THE worst operating system ever made by Microsoft (and that's saying a lot).

Run XP...if your comp won't run xp...go back to 98.

ME is just terrible.
