I assume you mean on threads that you start. I have had little success as yet, not sure what the trick is but i am new here yet.

I am sorry to hear this.

Although I have started just one thread, I did received tons of replies. It might be your subjects because mine was regarding a notice to Deanies (of which I am not one) regarding his appearance that night on some show with the 5 gay guys who help out the straight guys. I think that was a draw more for the gay guys than the Deanies LOL.

Please let me know what types of things are not getting responses, ok? I'm sincerely interested!

I get on DU so relatively seldom that I'm sure I've missed them ...

I often see myself that way and the person who turned me on to DU has said he's thinking of giving it up because no one ever answers him. I just think we're all a little paranoid. It happens to everyone. There's nothing wrong with any of your posts that I have seen. You are not on the wrong board. I have visited others and DU is the best. And I, for one, am very glad that you are here.:-)

i really didn't mean this as a pity thread. I just thought since emotions were a bit up, that maybe someone(s) would take a chance at an honest answer(s) if i gave an open invite.
I try to get my point across in a thread, i cancel more than i send and still can't seem to get a dialogue going. It sucks going back to a thread and seeing a response to everything and my post going all the way to the bottom, thus, the threadkill. After a few times of checking back i give up. I jumped in one the other day and the poster had put a big thank you to all the posts, to the one above me.
maybe it's just my way of seeing it...

Don't give up on DU. Look at the terrible reception that Will Pitt received and he's an icon here. We all have our days. I hope that yours is much better tomorrow.:-)

I posted a lot last night and lo! and behold the threads I helped kill are way back on page 7 or so...(I looked)...maybe I'm boring, maybe I'm dumb, but at least I try. At any rate, I'm not quitting posting here.

1. if your post doesn't have a question in it, that doesn't give people an obvious opening to respond to.

2. maybe your comments are so well-thought out and lucid, people simply read them mentally agree, and go on to the next post.



I dunno. Personally, unless a post irritates me, or is very insightful, I don't look to see who posted it. I do know I've read some posts of your, because your name is familiar. I don't have negative connections with you name, so there must have been at least one or two I liked.

I kept kicking a Greg Palast article I posted in Editorials a long time ago. I just didn't understand the reason I had so few replies. Then somebody pointed out that just because I was getting no replies didn't mean that no one was reading it. People agreed with it and there was no need to post a reply. This may be true in this case. It's the controversial stuff that receives the most replies. This is one of the reason I liked having the ``views.'' Any notion if this is ever coming back?:shrug:

if views will come back. I kind of like that, also. My guess would be "no" because when we had them, the board had probems. When the views went away, so did the problems. The ratings may have been contributory to that as well, but those didn't interest me, so I don't care they're gone.

I did a search of the past few days; there are several posts by you in threads, which have responses by others, but no follow-up post by you.

And at least one very well-thought out post by you with no response, confirming whichever number I put that as a possible earlier.

Unless I bookmark every thread where I've posted, I'm sure I haven't answered lots of witty replies or devastating retorts and probably now have people thinking I'm dissing them!

And let's face it most of us go through and read hundreds of posts and identify with several of them and respond to very few of them. I doubt there is any concious effort to avoid you going on.

Seriously, if people had a problem with you personally or about what you write, there's plenty of people around here that wouldn't spare your feelings about it.
