Sex Text Traps Teens
<snip>

TEENAGERS are being lured into a text debt trap by companies dealing in salacious SMS.

Teens are charged about $4 an SMS to send and receive sexy text, racking up phone bills in the hundreds of dollars.

Parents are being slugged with the monstrous bills because their thumb-happy teens cannot afford to pay.

One company linked to Optus was shut down this week after a Herald Sun investigation.

There are no age checks on the SMS services, meaning any child with a mobile phone can opt to receive lewd messages.

1. Another reason not to have a cell phone.
Not a popular stance, i know, but I see them as tracking devices and have yet to own one.

Naked News is exactly what you might think – attractive American female presenters taking off their kit (all of it) while reading out the news in English. This is exactly the kind of 'must have' content which 3G network operators are crying out for. It would be a bit embarrassing if somebody leant over your shoulder on the tram and saw you watching it, though.

Anyway, Icemobile must be a bit ashamed of the deal because there's no details of how it intends to deliver the TV feed on its Web site. Will it be feasible to stream the show over GPRS or will you need a 3G handset?
