LARGO - An Osceola Middle School teacher will retire at the end of this school year, one month after he pleaded guilty to a charge of voyeurism.
Roger F. Johnson, 52, was charged with voyeurism, a misdemeanor, in February after neighbors said they saw him looking through the bathroom window of a neighbor's home.
Johnson pleaded guilty to the charge April 5 and was sentenced to one year of probation. A judge also ordered that he have no contact with the neighbor or that neighbor's home.
The judge withheld adjudication against Johnson, meaning that there was no formal conviction, said Stephen Romine, his attorney. Johnson also could ask a judge to seal the court record, Romine said.
Johnson, who taught math at Osceola, was removed from classroom duty after the charge was filed. He was transferred to a school district warehouse, where he had no contact with children, schools spokesman Ron Stone said.
