16. I like our law with regard to ballot access for third parties
Texas law says that you cannot sign a petition to put a third party candidate on the ballot if you voted in the major party primaries. This is a good law because it prevents major parties from organizing signature drives on behalf of third party candidates that damage the other party. This law is unique in the country.

21. All those nice people in W. Texas in their big brand new cars, blue hair
and cowboy hats that passed my ex and I while we were hitchhiking with our canteens turned upside down and empty in 100 degree heat a while back seemed like good Christian folks. I bet one of them would have even been nice enough to call the police if one or both of us had passed out by the side of the road from dehydration.

And, after walking several more miles to find some water, that nice lady in the HoJo turned off the water cooler from behind her desk before we could get a drink...a classic act of Christian kindness and charity.

(Finally, two grizzled old whiskey drinking black men in an ancient beat up Cadillac picked us up, drove us across the New Mexico line, took us to one of their relatives restaurants, fed us BBQ and gallons of lemonade, let us stay for the night, and then drove us to Silver City in the morning to a nightclub they were working on.)

Ah, yes....Texas....I remember it well.

Good lib'rul Democrats all. I had the pleasure of seeing them when I was on travel last week. Got new boots too, at a low enough price so I could afford a pair each for my wife and Daughter.

The sight of a little girl of three, in new boots from Texas. Nothing. Like. It.

I took my family there for vacation in March.

We had more fun for less money than just about anywhere else we've ever gone! And some of the folks here in the Lounge were nice enough to give us some advice on what to see and do.

We'd go back tomorrow if we could!
