Ozzy Ozbourne, Marilyn Manson, or David Bowie In a Romero Zombie Flick?
(NOTE: Diamond Dead is a musical Zombie film with music written by one of the Rocky Horror musicians. It's NOT a "Dead" series film.)

Some strange stuff going on in the land of the Diamond Dead.

A lot of rock websites out there are reporting rumors that Ozzy Ozbourne, Marilyn Manson, and David Bowie are all being "looked into" for roles in the upcoming George Romero flick. Fitting, I guess, seeing as how the film is about a rock band that is killed and is able to come back to life, and be startlingly successful, after making a deal with Satan. Kinda like the Rolling Stones, but younger.

You may remember about a month ago it was announced the Ridley Scott's production company, Scott Free, has come on board as producers, so perhaps the potentially hefty paychecks of some of those rock stars is not outside the realm of plausibility anymore. We'll have to just wait and see.

Incidentally, and apparently Marilyn Manson is being considered for the role of Jesus. Who I believe was last seen rolling around in his grave at the news...or at least his shroud was.

1. I would see that on opening day
The Manson as Jesus. Yeah. That just feels right.

4. I'm actually surprised Alice Cooper isn't being mentioned
At least they're stepping up the talent scale--originally they were in talks with Gwen Stefani (sp?) from No Doubt. She's talented, but not what this type of material needs.

3. Marilyn Manson is the smartest of the three
Probably the way to go.

Unless the part calls for an oldster (I know! My generation too!)

5. Here's the official site, btw

I've re-read that original post several times now, and it seems like there might be rolls for all three of them. At least that's how I'm reading it.

6. I had a somewhat similar idea many years back
My dream was to do a rock-opera version of Sweeney Tood. I wanted Ozzy as Todd. It just seemed perfect at the time.
