I ever smoked my brakes on in a rig. And that was because of the Swiftie idiot going 5mph in front of me. Big company drivers are scared to death of all mountains...lol

Mt Airy :scared: the crap out of me once. We came down the mountian in an ice storm..... in the middle of the night. :scared: :scared:

Lucklily the salt truck was out. Me and about 10 other cars followed him down the mountain. :scared.

But when it's dry that's a different story. That guy was a scaredy cat all the way around

My favorite is the one with a picture of a huge hot dog that says:

Spent two weeks a year there every summer as a kid with my family. Miss it desperately. Pretty tourist-y now.

Spent a week there last fall. Beautiful scenery in Asheville and on the coast. The Triangle is a pretty cool place too.

Anything about scenery (mountains/coastline) would be superfluous.

Capel enjoyed a stellar prep and college playing career as a point guard. At South View High School in Fayetteville, N.C., he earned all-conference and all-state honors as a sophomore, junior and senior for coach Ron Miller. As a senior in 1993, he averaged 23.8 points, 5.1 rebounds and 7.7 assists per game, guiding South View to the a 31-1 record and the state championship. He ended his career as the school’s career leader in point (2,066), rebounds (668) and assists (633). After his senior season, he was chosen North Carolina and Gatorade State Player of the Year, earned All-America honors, and participated in the U.S. Olympic Festival.

He then went on to Duke University, where he was a four-year starter for the Blue Devils. As a freshman, he earned honorable mention All-ACC freshman honors, helping the team to the NCAA Championship game. He earned honorable mention All-ACC honors twice, and was a third-team All-ACC selection as a junior. Capel finished his career with 1,601 points, 433 assists and 220 three-point field goals. He ranks in Duke’s top 10 in a host of categories, including minutes played, three-point field goal percentage, three-point field goals made, and assists. He also earned ACC All-Academic honors as a senior in 1997. After graduating from Duke, he played professional basketball for three years, in both France and the CBA, before making the move into college coaching.

Jeff’s brother, Jason, played college basketball at the University of North Carolina, and his father, Jeff Jr., was a college head coach for 13 years, including eight years at Old Dominion.

He spent only one season at N.C. A&T State University, but in that season he led the Aggies to the NCAA tournament and took No. 1 seed and eventual national champion Arkansas to the limit. The Aggies knocked off Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference-favorite Coppin State in the conference tournament to earn a spot in the 1994 NCAA tournament.

His first college head-coaching position came at his alma mater Fayetteville State. He left his assistant coaching job at Wake Forest to take over a Broncos team that had won 25 games combined over the previous three seasons. The Broncos won seven games in Capel’s first season and 14 in his second season. By year three, the Broncos were 22-8. They went 21-9 the following year.

radically progressive and refreshing, also stupidly conservative with the billy graham center and other mountain preecher-skreechers from back in the hollars -- it's like yugoslavia in the mid 90s around here for cryin' out loud.

but it's always beautiful.
