It's "Thou shalt not bear false witness," not lying. And they left out like half a million commandments, all those ones about eating shellfish and not wearing mixed fibers....

Jeez. Even growing up, I knew that certain lies were a good idea, that they created a better place for everyone involved. "Yes, Mom, you look fabulous! Yeah, people think you're my older sister all the time! Especially when you wear my bubble skirt and high tops and beads and pretend you're Madonna, too!"

(So shoot me. I grew up in the 80s.)

I did find out that I'm a very very bad person and will be going to Hell. I don't even feel guilty for most of my sins.
