My friends - I need your prayers

I took my wife back to the hospital today. The doctor said she is dying.

Her vitals look bad and her odds are diminishing by the hour. He said she'll last the night, but the next 48 hours may well be her last. She has a chance, but several factors are weighing against her.

I don't know what to say. I love her so much.

I feel lost.

I'm afraid I don't know how old you and your wife are, or what your wife has.

But you really have my sympathy.

I wept in a hospital chapel tonight. At 46, I am so unprepared for this.

My mother lost my father when they were both 47, and it was so hard to watch. It's so much harder when you're young. You don't expect to lose someone at such a young age when you signed up for life.

Rarely does a message board posting bring me to tears. If it's any comfort at all, know this: few people experience the depth of love that you are showing for your wife. In that sense, you're one of the luckiest men on earth. Peace be with you.

I am truly sorry for what may be your impending loss and I really can't imagine what you are feeling but if I put myself in your shoes I shake with fear and trepidation. The only thing that soothes me is to know that your wife will always be with as all of our loved ones if only in spirit.

I leave you with a poem written by the another and in response to another's death but I think it is appropriate here. I hope you receive some solace from it.

My wife caught pneumonia and quite a few times during her 31 days in intensive care I almost lost her, I pray you get the same miracles I did.

We will hold you and Mrs. BigBigBear in our thoughts and prayers, and hope for the best.
