Poll question: What movie should Sus and I see this weekend
Edited on Fri May-07-04 08:03 AM by LynneSin
We're thinking of seeing a movie on Sunday night. Let's see what DUers think we should see. We're eliminating any movie's we've seen already and movies we know we won't see. Plus we have to eliminate Kill Bill2 because neither of us have seen Kill Bill 1 (although I'll probably watch the movie on On-Demand as soon as it's available)

Here's movies I KNOW I won't watch: The Passion of The Christ, anything with the Olsen Twins, any movie losely based on Cinderella and just about anything based on a comic strip even though we were both very pleased with Hellboy.

That leaves us:

5. I'd say "Life of Brian", but...
...she'd be getting home rather late. I'd love to see "Life of Brian" on the big screen.

6. Yes, but it could be worth it
The movie only lasts 2 hours - she could be home and in bed by 11pm

7. True.
That would be my choice. If it comes to the big screen here, I'm going!

8. Van Helsing is getting terrible reviews
... and "Life of Brian" is a classic. This should be a no-brainer.

11. Life of Brian! -a beautiful film, a perfect comedy and a gentle
triumph of silliness over pomposity, self-importance and intolerance. I got that description and the following information from the ad from my local art theatre: The Oaks in Oakmont, PA, where Brian will play starting May 15th.

It's being re-released on it's 25th anniversary, and is seen as a challenge to Mel Gibson's religious snuff film. Did you know that the LIfe of Brian could not have been completed until former beatle, George Harrison, stepped in to finance it after EMI films withdrew fearing it was too controversial?

It is intended as a spoof on the big budget Bible films and intolerance, rather than on Christianity.

The three wisemen show up at the wrong stable - where Brian Cohen was just born (JC was in the stable next door). Fast forward 33 years and Brian has joined the Peoples Front of Judea - a wannabee terrorist cell out to terrorize the Romans.

I saw the previews last week and it looked VERY good.

14. I just saw Godsend
it was ok. A tad better than I thought it was going to be. It had me interested even thought it was predictable.
