5. There are more Mac Users than conventional wisdom indicates
a lot of reporters equate quarterly market share (sales in one quarter) with installed base. . .but Macs seem to be more usable longer than the equiv PC - so in my case I buy a new PC more often than I buy a new Mac.

8. I'm running Jaguar, how do you like Panther?
My college is upgrading next week. The digital photo lab is getting all new iMacs (upgrading from G4 duals).
Personally, I don't see that much difference.

The user interface seems zippier to me - I like the new finder, and EXPOSE is cool and useful if you get too many damn windows open.

13. An old Powerbook 1400 with Mac 8.6
My eMac is doing terrific with unsinkable Jaguar but I've yet to find a great deal on an iBook. Tonight I'm lounging bedside with my G3 upgraded 1400 and 8.6, which will be parted out on eBay once I make the iBook leap. I tried 9.2.2 on the 1400 using a software enabler but the absurd RAM limitations on the 1400 forced me to retreat to 8.6.

27. No, that would be ME! ME!
Still on Win95. Which I only switched to because my current (bought in 1998) PC had it preloaded. Before that, it was Win3.1.1. I like to make sure all the bugs (ha!) have been worked out of it before I commit...

16. Windows 95 until 5 months ago
Finally my old barnacle encrusted PC sailed to Davey Jones' locker. Now I'm quite satisfied with a eMac (OS X Panther). Though I suspect any upgrade would've seemed an inprovement.

20. What a SURPRISE!!!
Why, I thought ALL "Good Progressives/Liberals" used LINUX, so they could "stick it" to the Evil Bill Gates?

I run Win2K. It is NOT buggy. I have researched LINUX, and it has nothing for me.

22. Mac OS 9.1
10.2 sometimes on this old G3 300. The sad thing is I have a Hot Rod 2000 Pro / Linux box next to me. And I still prefer my 6 year old Mac.
