What do you do to get inspired?

I've been trying to write some comedy and now all of a sudden nothing seems funny. Anybody have any ideas to get me inspired? I'll even accept sarcasm at this point. :-)

I've tried watching other comedies, but I find a lot of the jokes stick in my head and I don't want to be accused of stealing someone elses material.

3. I go the the "Hall of Great Ideas"

I.E. to the bathroom If it's just a headline or something small I need an idaea for. If it's a bigger project, I go for a long walk by myself. I try to carry a pad and pen because I usually come up with a ton of ideas.

9. I turn off the computer.

A pen and an old fashioned notebook, with paper and everything, often works better for me if I'm struggling. Like I am now with a deadline. Gotta turn off this sucka!

I've also found that often inspiration strikes in the shower. I dunno why. I've had a lot of good ideas come to me there, without really trying.

Oh, and there's always :beer:

Actually I wrote a joke a few weeks ago that I thought of in the shower and it killed! I've been trying to put off cocktails with Mr. Bacardi until this evening. :-)

11. Go to a mall or other pop culture mecca and

just watch / listen to the people. Eventually someone will do something stupid, annoying or otherwise useful to someone like you who wants comedy material.
