For those who you who insult others for liking certain TV shows

like, FRIENDS, I say.........BITE ME!!!!!! :wtf: :grr:

Why the negativity towards people who liked this show or other shows you deem unworthy? Yes, even as a fan I know its just a TV show. I loved it and will buy the DVDs. There's no harm in that either.

Doesn't make me any less "cultured" or whatever.....

So, for those say, "get a life", etc. Why don't YOU get a life?

Why waste all your time on a computer on a message board?
Get out, watch children play, read a book, take a shower, BLAH, BLAH, BLAH!! :nuke:

The skelly goblin in my closet is a degree in Radio Television & Film.

There are a few, "I hate Friends and the people who like them are stupid" threads.
Geez, I don't care for "Survivor" but I don't run around talking smack about those who do.

I just expect better from DU, that's all.

P.S. I have a degree in Media Arts and I use to work in the field.

8. I'm in a 12 step program for film/videographers.
Sigh...I am just not in the demographic that Friends was aimed at.
I never got it either.

I will parapharase Voltare " I may not agree with what you watch but I will defend your right to watch it."

For a while my favorite show was Washington Week in Review.

Go figure.

Passive resondancy is a patholigical narcolepsy...

Its still the vast wasteland and does have some bearing on the dumbing down of culture. I was raised and fed on TV as a kid.

My earliest memories of living on a ranch in Texas was hearing Art Linkleters " House Party ". I honestly wonder what the impact TV has on social evolution.

But all said I really do defend and respect your right to watch TV. Did you ever read Farenheit 451. I wonder it this is where it is going to.

It didn't seem interesting to me, so I didnt read it. My point for this post is that for so-called liberals, there are a lot of elitists who like to point out how much better they are for this, that and other.

No wonder the Dems can't get it together, We can't even get it together on DU about pop culture!

I thought Sex and the City was insipid and frankly disgusting -- so I stayed away from all the finale threads. I wonder if there was any trashing going on like we're seeing now. God knows I didn't see any threads dedicated to bashing it.

25. They're responding to unhappy domestic situations.
I've never watched Friends; it never seemed like my cup of tea. In fact, I don't watch much Prime Time Network TV. With cable, there are a couple of hundred alternatives. Not to mention DVD's, CD's, the Internet & books.

However, there are those who do not have control of the remote. They are forced, poor folks, to watch shows they do not like. Therefore, they're taking out their frustration at their powerlessness on fans of the offending shows.
