Anyone remember a fast food chain called Rax?
What happened to them? Were not they sort of a "healthy" fast food chain?

3. Oh, I remember Rax.
Yeah. They had this HUGE salad bar...with everything. Their sandwiches weren't bad at all.

Rax was a decent place.

14. Loved them
First encountered them in the mid-'80s in Florida and Georgia (and, I think, points north....can't recall) and then later in New Mexico. searched high and low for them in travels in the late '80s and found one in Idaho. Haven't seen one since, but they were apparently dropping off the map for a while. A great salad bar for the time -- since outdone by some of the lavish California-style ones that came about in the late '80s -- but the thing I loved most of all there was the chcocolate-chip milkshake. I'm yet to find its true equal. :-(

Long live Rax.

P.S.: Just remembered -- found one somewhere in southern Pennsylvania in the late '90s! Could they still, as is said of Nessie and Sasquatch, exist in isolated pockets of the United States? Got me a chocoalte-chip shake there, too. Mmmmm.
