isn't hot water the blade's enemy?

1. I shave in the shower.
It's the best way to soften up the whiskers before shaving. I get a much smoother shave in the shower.

IMO, it's ok.

2. I tried it one day and never looked back
It's way better. I get a closer shave and a lot less irritation.

4. I shave my legs in the shower.
It's quick and easy and I can't figure out why all women don't do it that way.

How can you shave without hot water?

I prefer shaving in the shower - though I feel bad about it, sicne it's an environmental nightmare of wasting hot water - but I get a better shave and it's more relaxing.

Though I have a shower head that I can pinch down into a small stream, and I turn the wter way down when I'm doing the shaving, so it's probably about what others waste in hot water shaving at the sink with the hot water tap on.

I used to just fill the sink with hot water, using far, far, far less hot water than keeping the tap open, and that works really well. But for some reason, I've been allowing myself the luxury - bad stewardship though it is - of shaving in the shower.

But on the other hand, I don't use environmentally destructive canned foam products - I use shaving soap and a brush - so perhaps that makes up for the hot water wastage.

9. How well does it work for you?

I've always read and been told that one should use hot water while shaving, for both the pre-soaping, the soaping, and the blade rinsing.

I seem to get a much better shave from hotter water, based on the few times that the building has been running low on hot water and only gives me lukewarm. I'd think that cold water on the blades would make the beard hairs stand down a bit and start to close up pores in the face and make shaving more difficult.

16. No shaving cream here either, after a shower, the "nubs" are plenty soft
.
.
.

No ring of tiny hairs around the sink either!

My shower head has a shut off - I just give the razor a "blast" every now and then to clean the whiskers out.

I'm so used to it now, I use just water in the woods too, added bonus, the lack of shaving cream, no odor, no bugs! (bugs just LOVE any of that "stink-purty" stuff)

19. I shave immediately after getting out of the shower.
Soft stubble...the only challenge is avoiding my dog trying to lick my ass-water. x(
