I wanna party with No Doubt
Just watched their Rock Steady Live DVD. Man, those cats are cool as shit. They all look like they can party! Tony, Tom, and Adrian were shown between the show and the encore doing shots of Captain Morgan behind the stage. That's hilarious. They were seriously fucked up. For No Doubt fans, this DVD is a must. They have 4 bonus songs that are old school. They did some pre Tragic Kingdom stuff (Trapped in a Box.)

I think they'd be a riot to hang with. However, if you despise ND, and I know plenty of people do, please, please, please don't shit on my thread. I promise not to shit on yours one day. ;)

1. I know them from the past
Edited on Sat May-08-04 12:17 PM by nothingshocksmeanymo
Gwen grew up around the corner from me.
When the band was still new, they and the Sublimes both played at our local watering hols that only fits about 50 people comfortably in the place.
They will still appear at weddings of close family friends and are all still pretty down to earth. Up until a few years ago when their tour schedule got out of control Gwen and her dad would come to family get togethers (across the street from me) and her dad would play keyboards and we'd all jam to Christmas tunes at the holidays.

She's a pretty down to earth person for the incredible success they've had.

3. I think I remember you saying something like that before
That's kinda cool to know somebody like that. The DVD seems to show them all as really down to earth. I dig that. Didn't ND recently join the Rock Against Bush campaign thing too? If so, then they're tops on my list. I'll check that out, and report back...

4. No Doubt Rocks Against Bush
Of course that's pResident Bush, not the band Bush which is fronted by Gwen's husband. That would be weird.

A week after the compilation Rock Against Bush Vol. 1 was released, a sequel to the politically minded compilation is taking shape.

No Doubt, the Foo Fighters, Green Day, Bad Religion, the Used, Yellowcard and Flogging Molly are on board for the album, due in August, with many more artists expected to join them.

That's really cool becase the Foo Fighters FUCKIN' RULE!

BTW I generally don't like covers, but I think their version of "It's My Life" is better than the original.

13. Yeah, an old buddy of mine
knew a guy that worked with Gwen at Knott's Berry Farm. Apparently she screwed up a lot, and got fired. Shortly after that, No Doubt got big because they actually found the time to practice.

2. No Doubt Seriously Rocks
Even harder than the theme song from Friends, if you can believe that. Their work on the second Brady Bunch movie was especially fierce.

11. I love Gwen and yes No Doubt Rocks
My sister's college roomates saw Gwen at a McDonalds in Rhode Island and the roomies went over and talked to her and Gwen posed for pictures with them.

From everything I know, Gwen is indeed really cool and down to earth. She has always been one of my faves.
