The "I have some good news and some bad news" thread.

The good news is, since my mother died at 33 and I am 41, I don't have to look forward to a lifetime of realization that I'm turning into my mother.

The bad news is, I'm turning into my grandmother.

Do you have good news & bad news?

My elder sisters saw our grandmother yesterday. She's in an assisted-living home. My sister tells me to lighten up: we have a long, long way to go. ;)

The bad news is that I am an American liberal living in a tiny, neutral European country which now, despite its claims of neutrality, looks at me as though I'm a personal envoy of the Bush administration.

The very good news is that I found www.democraticunderground.com this morning. I have hope of finding kindred spirits . . . at last. (The other good news is that the "check spelling" function found no errors in this post.)

Thank you, mac56. I haven't read through all the threads on this forum, but I wonder whether there's any segment of American liberals putting pressure on Europe, Asia and the Middle East to put pressure on the Bush administration to stop the insanity? Further, in the absence of international political pressure, I wonder who'll be willing to step up to the plate and liberate us Americans when Bushco is finished with us? Either scenario would constitute "good news" in my view.
