1. Richard Karn.
The perfect blend of qualities that make a good game show host.

4. He is, BUT....
He's the best of the FF hosts. :-)

Worst, by far: Richard Dawson.

13. Richard Dawson was smarmy.
He made my skin crawl. All that "kissy kissy" stuff.

I may go insane eventually, though. :-)

Terry

3. Ray Combs committed suicide in 1996... I didn't know until
I started googling to get the correct spellings of all the previous hosts names. He was distraught that his career appeared to be going nowhere after CBS cancelled his version of Family Feud. (very sad)

7. I think he was in a car wreck
He badly injured his legs -might have lost the ability to walk- and that lead to the depression and then the suicide. If I remember correctly.

9. I think you're right.
That was mentioned on one of those E! "Hollywood Stories" about Ray Combs.

12. The Sad Details... URL
Apparently the car wreck was just part of the story. He was able to walk, but he had back difficulties and pain.

"He moved from his home and into a small apartment, but things we're just getting started. In 1994, Ray's car was clipped and spun into control. He was rushed to emergency. He would forever be stuck with a back problem. He tried to open another comedy club, but it was quickly shut down. For a man who mad over $6 million yearly as host of the Family Feud was now broke and in debt. The bank foreclosed on one of their homes.

But Ray tried to fight back. He tested out a stint for a talk show, but it fizzled. He made numerous appearances on the Game Show Network, but he wasn't the same Ray Combs."

5. Louie had trouble reading the cards and pronouncing names, but
he was a fun guy. I won't watch the reruns with Dawson, don't like him. That getting a kiss from all the women guests was pretty lame.

11. Richard Dawson is one of the best
hosts of game shows ever. Right up there with Bob Barker.
