How do you say "money"?
I was watching The Sopranos on Sunday and heard one of the wiseguys refer to money as "scradole" -- which is what my Italian uncles used to called it back when I was a kid -- and I have no idea how it's spelled. Characters on The Sopranos also often refer to $1,000 as "a box of Ziti." Anyway, I was wondering what odd expressions you use/have heard to refer to money, either in general or a specific amount.

1. simolians (?)
I've heard Steelers radio man Myron Cope refer to dollars as "simolians" or something like that. Again, I have no idea how it's spelled.

Has anyone else heard that?

10. Oh yeah...
I've heard semolians used quite a bit. In the Sim games (sim city, the sims, etc.) the currency is known as "Simoleons."

I also prefer:
Jack
Scratch
Scrip
Caysh
Dough
Bling
Ducats
Sheckels
etc etc

Roman numeral for 10 is "X".
Looks kinda like a sawbuck for sawing firewood.
Who knows fin?
on edit: a 20 is a double sawbuck.

20. Just found this explanation online:
This fin is a clipping of finnif, also meaning a $5 bill. Finnif (the word is spelled in many different ways) is a borrowing from Yiddish finef 'five', of Germanic origin and related to English five. Finnif is first attested in the 1850s and is now rather rare. Fin itself is first found in England in the 1860s; it does not seem to have become common in America until the 1920s.

Though fin may not be as common as it once was, it is still in use. My favorite recent example is from that brilliant TV show The Simpsons: "Driver, here's a fin. Get us home and don't spare the whip!" Other 1990s sources include the Donahue show and Rolling Stone magazine, showing that it's not really that obscure a term.
