4. And she's my neighbour!
I believe she still owns the house across from where I live on Vaucluse Bay in Sydney's Eastern Suburbs. (It's not my house - I couldn't afford a dog kennel in this area! A friend owns it and is happy to rent me the bottom half until I move to my own 100 acre estates up the North Coast).

I keep looking out for her, but she's rarely, if ever there, may even have loaned the house to someone else. I'm sure the bay will be filled with boats full of photographers if she ever does stay there. When I take my own little boat out, I putter along past her place hoping to see her in her pool, but no luck so far!

5. I don't know
if she's a great actress or not; I do know she mesmerizes me when I watch films she's in. That may impair my capacity to evaluate her talent objectively.

I think she has a talent for accents which helps her credibility in certain roles.

I do love watching her on screen.

6. yes
captivating is a good word. She's a real movie-star and she compounds it with talent. To Die For was amazing. Moulin Rouge, The Others, The Hours.... all great movies that she improved.

7. Dead Calm
To Die For; Moulin Rouge; The Birthday Girl; heck I even liked her in Far & Away; Eyes Wide Shut and that missile movie - Peacekeeper, Peacemaker whatever it was called.

Good, bad or indifferent - I'll watch her in dang near anything. I've never got round to BMX Bandits, yet. . .

10. Me too
Eyes Wide Shut was the film that locked me in. She was astoundingly good in that. It made me look at her in a whole new light.

14. I'll be honest...
I don't think Tom Cruise is a terrible actor. I think he's quite adequate and has exquisite sense (or maybe management) in which movies he does.

I liked him a lot in one of my all-time favorite movies: Magnolia. I also think he's a better-than-average action movie star.

And I still think he was absolutely fucking adorable in Risky Business.

15. I don't think he's horrid
but he's worked with Newman, Hoffman, Nicholson, Duvall, for starters; you'd think he would've learned something from hanging out with that kind of talent.

17. funny, but I blame Tom Cruise and Risky Business
for a lot of what sucked in the eighties.

Really.

I'm being sort of serious.

Speech patterns of your ordinary bloke changed after that movie. And for the worse.

But, nightowl that I am, it's even too late for me to make any good sense.

So, goodnight and sweetdreams all of you that have to be up this late!

Or even you ghouls that are up this late by choice ;)

(it's 3:35am for me here and at least an hour past my bedtime)

g'night, and see you soon, but probably not until at least 9:00pm central!

I thought he did a really good job in "Minority Report".
